So I am beginning my 8th week of pregnancy and those "signs and symptoms" are in full swing! I have decided that pregnancy is the most amazing, intriguing, interesting, and weird thing ever! I have always heard people talk about the weird cravings, food aversions, heightened sense of smell, and just crazy symptoms of pregnancy but I was a little skeptical... until now. I now love to eat things that never really interested me before (fruit parfaits from McDonald's, pretzels, and fruit snacks are daily staples), and there are other things that I can't even stand to look at (raw chicken, pinto beans, and strawberry ice cream). Crazy, I know, but it really can't be explained... it just is what it is... pregnancy! By the end of every day I literally feel like I am floating because of all the water I am drinking, and I think I have had my fair share of protein for about a year. I have to go to the bathroom about 100 times a day (ok maybe that is an exaggeration, but it feels like it), and I get exhausted by the end of the day even if I haven't done anything. I can smell things from a mile away, and most smells make me want to throw up.
I am not, in any way, complaining... I absolutely LOVE being pregnant and I really am looking forward to the next 7 months, but it is just so funny to me. I am so extremely THANKFUL that I haven't been sick at all so far. My first pregnancy I was sick starting at week 5 and extremely nauseous all day, everyday. So I anticipated the same with this one, but so far, so good!
Did I mention how much I love tracking what our precious little baby is doing inside me at each week. I get several e-mails that tells exactly how big he/she is and what is forming and developing each week. It is absolutely amazing to me and I don't know how anyone can go through a pregnancy and not believe in God as the ultimate divine creator of life... you can't tell me that just "happens".
We had an early ultrasound at 6 weeks because of my previous miscarriage, they just wanted to check and make sure everything was ok with this one. The baby looked great, measured accordingly, and had a great heart rate. We heard and saw the little heart-beat, it was amazing! This week it is the size of a blueberry and it's brain, major organs, arms, legs, and face are all forming! What a little miracle! We go back next week for another ultrasound and by then he/she will be the size of a little gummy bear! Can't wait to see our lil bit!
Well for now, it's bed time for this tired momma! It is only 9:15 and I feel like it is 2:00 in the morning, I am exhausted! I will update more later as the pregnancy symptoms increase. I can't wait to experience all that is to come over the next 7 months! :-)

Great post, Lindsey! I've never been pregnant, but you've just given me a humorous look at what it must be like! Praise God that this pregnancy is going so well for you.
